Lexan
Lexan is highly used for indoor and outdoor signage. As it is most secure glass like material, it found diverse areas to serve and secure.
Lexan is a lightweight material alternative to Acrylic. Appearance-wise, the two materials maylook identical, but their difference is in the durability. Lexan is the more durable one. It is scratch proof and flexible, which makes it break free.
Lexan is one of the most durable types of plastic materials. Though it has some similarities with glass and Acrylic, it is triple durable than these two. The material is flexible and does not break from any pressure.
Lexan comes in rolls, which means you can get the material in custom sizes.
Although Lexan looks like glass, it has flexibility which glass does not have. This feature helps the material to stay safe and sound in case of pressure and all types of weather hazards.
Being a durable material, Lexan is often used for outdoor applications. It is a heat-resistant material, therefore it can be placed under the sun without changing its forms. Also, it is a shatterproof material and can withstand all types of weather conditions.
Lexan is a thermoplastic material, meaning it can easily be shaped with heat. This feature gives us the ability to achieve all types of shapes with the Lexan material.
As for the thickness, it is 3/16".
Clear - Lexan, just like Acrylic, looks very much like glass due to its clarity. Clear Lexan is a perfect material for making classy signs. These can be office nameplates, logo signs or any other types of signs. White - Naturally, Lexan has only one color which is white. This type of Lexan is great for printing. But in case if you do not want it in white we can paint the material in your desired color.
Usually, outdoor signs have one purpose, which is to promote. Below see some outdoor signage options made of Lexan. Lightbox Signs These are LED Illuminated Cabinets that are made of Aluminum frame and Acrylic or Lexan face. As the aim of the sign is to transfer light, Lexan is the perfect material for that. The material provides perfect light transmission up to 85% and gives durability to the sign. Channel Letters Illuminated Letters are made of the same material as Lightboxes. The back and the sides of the letters are Aluminum, while the face part is either Lexan or Acrylic. Lexan again serves for the same purpose, to transfer light. Pylon Signs Plaza Signs are tall free standing signs often displayed in front of shopping or business centers, on the sides of highways to provide high visibility. The face part of the sign is made of Lexan or Acrylic. The information is either printed on the Lexan plastic material or is fixed with Vinyl Letterings.
As for interior signs, these can be of various purposes, be it business or decorative. Curved Nameplate Signs Lexan is the perfect material for making Nameplate Signs, which are often seen in business centers and offices. These Signs can be used to depict the name of the company or the names of the staff. Decorative Signs Being a flexible material, Lexan allows us to form it in any possible shapes. Therefore, it is a great material for making all types of decorative architectural signage. Stands Lexan is often used for making stand signs as well. These can be tabletop stands or bigger promotional displays.
Lexan is a great material for printing. At Front Signs, we use only UV curing printers, which means the prints are sun resistant and will retain their colors for a long period. This is achieved by the process of drying the inks with ultraviolet rays.
We offer cutting services for Lexan as well. For cutting, we use two machines: CNC Mill and Laser. The first one gives a matt finish to the cut edges, while Laser leaves the edges of Lexan glossy.
In addition to the rest of the services, Front Signs also provides painting services as well. Our painting machine offers 80.000 different color shades.
